The United Nations Global Compact defines supply chain sustainability as "the management of environmental, social and economic impacts and the encouragement of good governance practices throughout the lifecycle of goods and services".

This, emphasises the importance of sharing sustainability principles in all relationships between companies, as one of the most relevant elements to strengthen their diffusion. 

Attention and sensitivity to the theme of sustainability in its multiple meanings, environmental, social and economic, are an integral part of Walvoil's vision and daily activity. 

Witness to this are our production practices, our products, which we increasingly develop with a view to saving energy and recovery, as well as, efficient logistics with optimised packaging and other internal interventions, as well as welfare initiatives. 

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we decided to establish the 'Green Supplier Award'. 

An award dedicated to our suppliers, our partners, those who have contributed to the company's success over the years with their valuable contribution. 

The award is also intended to be an opportunity for dialogue and mutual growth.

Starting in 2023, Walvoil will reward the three best environmental and social sustainability initiatives and projects of its suppliers based on their achievements.

The sections of the Green Supplier Award are:

• ESG Award – Welfare
• ESG Award – Environment
• ESG Award - Ethics and Legality

The award ceremony for the most virtuous initiatives will be held in June 2023, on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the company's founding.
